Dr. Michael E. Rom is a board-certified ophthalmologist and the owner and primary surgeon of Insight Eye Center in Mentor, Ohio. He has practiced ophthalmology for more than 30 years, has performed over 40,000 cataract and glaucoma procedures, and trained at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and Tufts–New England Medical Center. Dr. Michael E. Rom is a board-certified ophthalmologist and the owner and primary surgeon of Insight Eye Center in Mentor, Ohio. With more than 30 years in ophthalmology and over 40,000 cataract and glaucoma procedures, he is one of the most experienced eye surgeons in the greater Cleveland area, and patients from across Northeast Ohio seek him out for cataract surgery, lens implants and glaucoma care.

Dr. Rom completed his ophthalmology residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and a fellowship at Tufts–New England Medical Center in Boston. Before ophthalmology he trained in internal medicine at Miriam Hospital/Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. He earned his medical degree at the University of the Witwatersrand and interned at Baragwanath Hospital in South Africa.
